Effect of maternal age on postimplantation reproductive failure in mice.
نویسنده
چکیده
Postimplantation reproductive failure was studied in young adult, 9-, 11-, 13and 15-month-old C57BL/6J mice. Loss of all implanted embryos between the 8th and 18th days of pregnancy increased with advancing maternal age. The percentage of individual postimplantation deaths increased from 9% in young adults to 23% in 9-month-old mice and further increased to 45% in 11-month-old animals. Evidence is presented that deaths most commonly occurred in the early postimplantation period.

P-65: Maternal Effect Genes in Mammalian Reproduction
Background: Regulation of gene expression in mammalian embryos is not completely known. Pre-implantation embryos need maternal RNA and proteins synthesized during oogenesis, to regulate development before mater-embryo transition, as the grown oocyte and the 1-cell zygote are transcriptionally silent. There are some oocyte-specific genes called maternal effect genes which may account for this ea...
متن کاملMaternal influence on postimplantation survival in inbred rats.
The derivation and maintenance of inbred strains of animals is frequently difficult or impossible due to reductions in litter size and viability of the offspring. Reductions in litter size might be expected from adverse genetic or environmental effects on components of the reproductive cycle including the ovulation rate, the rate of preimplantation mortality of the zygote and the rate ofpostimp...
متن کاملP-19: The Effect of Mice Maternal Diet Supplemented with Omega-3 Fatty Acids on The Testicular Structure of Offspring: Stereological Study
Background Despite the bulk of studies on fatty acid supplementation in maternal diet and confirmed the positive effects on brain and vision, these effects on offspring reproductive organs have not been tested. The aim of the present study was to stereological evaluate the effect of feeding Fish Oil (FO) for mothers on the testis structure of offspring. MaterialsAndMethods Sixty mature female N...
متن کاملEffect of maternal anastrozole treatment on ovarian follicle development in neonatal mouse: A morphologic study
Introduction: The origin of neonatal oocyte development is unknown. However, estrogen plays an essential role during development of the female reproductive system. Anastrozole is used as both ovulation stimulating and an anticancer drug. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of Anastrozole on follicular development and differentiation in mice. Materials and methods: In the present s...

Introduction: - Significant increase in usage of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in consumer products, has increased its exposures to human and animals. Although there are some reports regarding the effects of AgNPs on complex organisms, no report was found as to its effects on neurobehavioral ontogeny. Methods: To investigate the effects of maternal exposure to AgNPs on development of neu...
